THE CONTRITE APPROACH

2011 has been a year in which The Lord has taught me what true repentance is. Yesterday when I was communing with The Lord, He told me repentance must start from the heart and it must be backed by action. What was so unique about King David? The Lord referred to him as a man after His own heart. David loved The Lord with all his heart. David knew contrition which made him different from those around him. David had deep regret anytime he transgressed. He knew the consequence of sins in his walk with God. He had to adopt the contrite approach to keep him walking with The Lord.

2 Samuel 12:7-13(AMP)
7Then Nathan said to David, You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: I anointed you king of Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.
    8And I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added that much again.
    9Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, doing evil in His sight? You have slain Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife. You have murdered him with the sword of the Ammonites.
    10Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because [you have not only despised My command, but] you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.
    11Thus says the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your a own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.
    12For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.
    13And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said to David, The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.


When David committed adultery with Bathsheba The Lord sent Nathan to convict him of his sin. When David fell under the conviction of The Lord he got broken. Psalm 51 shows the heart of David. He knew what true repentance meant. What does The Lord require from us when we sin?
Psalm 51: 17.
My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.
He requires we bring sacrifices of brokenness of heart and a spirit of contrition. Often we become so infatuated with a particular sin which makes us insensitive to His conviction. As we continue to ignore Him our hearts become numb.
Isaiah 66: 2
For all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being [by and for Me], says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands.
The Lord is looking for people who have contrite spirit. A person with a contrite spirit is quick to repent when he sins. He knows the effects of sins in his walk with The Lord.

Let us look at the city of Nineveh. The Lord had planned to destroy the city because of their sins. When Jonah went to preach to them, their hearts were cut. They had great remorse over their sins. They demonstrated their remorse through fasting, wailing and the wearing of sackcloth.
Jonah 3: 5- 10.
5So the people of Nineveh believed in God and proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth [in penitent mourning], from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
    6For word came to the king of Nineveh [of all that had happened to Jonah, and his terrifying message from God], and he arose from his throne and he laid his robe aside, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
    7And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed nor drink water.
    8But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
    9Who can tell, God may turn and revoke His sentence against us [when we have met His terms], and turn away from His fierce anger so that we perish not.
    10And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God revoked His [sentence of] evil that He had said that He would do to them and He did not do it [for He was comforted and eased concerning them].
Anytime The Lord sent Israel into captivity for their disobedience, He was patiently waiting for them to admit their sins and turn back to Him. When they realized their transgression The Lord heard them and brought them out of their bondage.

What does The Lord require from this generation? The Lord has been teaching me a lot on repentance and confession of sins. Often we rush when confessing our sins. We should be specific in our confession. If you told a lie and you are confessing your sins don't generalize . Tell The Lord the lie you told. If genuine confession is not made, how can The Lord deal with us? Daddy is merciful to forgive but He is also interested in dealing with our sins.
2 Corinthians 7: 10.
For godly grief and the pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil, and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly [breeding and ending in death].
Today call out to Daddy to pour out a spirit of repentance upon your life. Call upon Daddy to break you so He can fix you. Call upon Daddy to pour out meekness upon you. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He will chastise you to make you better. He loves us so much and He desires we become more like Him. When Daddy uses His rod to discipline us we should thank Him. He says He will look at the man who has a contrite spirit.

WHEN GOD USES THE UNFANCIED TO SET US FREE

2Kings 5:. 1- 14.(AMP)
 1NAAMAN, COMMANDER of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, accepted [and acceptable], because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.
    2The Syrians had gone out in bands and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid, and she waited on Naaman's wife.
    3She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.
    4[Naaman] went in and told his king, Thus and thus said the maid from Israel.
    5And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, 6,000 shekels of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
    6And he brought the letter to the king of Israel. It said, When this letter comes to you, I will with it have sent to you my servant Naaman, that you may cure him of leprosy.
    7When the king of Israel read the letter, he rent his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? Just consider and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me.
    8When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, he sent to the king, asking, Why have you rent your clothes? Let Naaman come now to me and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
    9So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stopped at Elisha's door.
    10Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored and you shall be clean.
    11But Naaman was angry and went away and said, Behold, I thought he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and heal the leper.
    12Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
    13And his servants came near and said to him, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean?
    14Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a little child, and he was clean.

Often, we get so familiar with a condition or a lifestyle which causes us not to discern the direction The Lord is leading us. From the scripture above, it can be seen that Naaman the commander of the Syrian army was so used to the rivers Abanah and Pharpar that he despised the idea of washing himself in the river Jordan when the man of God instructed him to. Again it can be seen that the genesis of Naaman's deliverance came from an unlikely source i.e the Hebrew slave girl. There are moments in life that God requires us to stoop low before He brings deliverance in our lives. God's ways are higher than our ways. So are His thoughts. The way God sees situations is different from the way we do.

Naaman was a prominent member of the Syrian army. He was a man of integrity but he had to live with a shameful disease. In our walk as believers, there are moments in our lives in which we face unfriendly circumstances. There are moments in which we fight battles which seems unending. These circumstances sometimes dents our image and causes us to recoil in our shells. The Lord requires us to see things just as He does. We may be used to (Abanah and Pharpar) the luxurious lifestyle. We may be used to a particular prayer topic but God requires us to turn to the direction which He is leading us. He may lead us to(Jordan) the unattractive places but we must learn to trust in His leading. The Lord does not follow logic. He requires us to let go of our pride, humble ourselves and follow the direction He desires us to go.

There will be instances where He will lead us to the unlikeliest of counsel like the Hebrew slave girl to bring deliverance. All He requires from us is our humility. The Lord is not so much concerned about the comfort you have in (Abanah and Pharpar). Abanah and Pharpar can be things in our lives that hinders us from seeing the fullness of His power. It is prudent we humble ourselves and follow where He wants to lead us. God is not a mechanical God. The way He works today is different from how He will work tomorrow. He requires us to humble ourselves and trust Him. The path He leads us may not be what we want, we should learn to follow the Lord closely and humble ourselves. He is able to use what we disregard to our advantage. Let us always ask for His will for our lives. Let us always ask Him the direction He wants us to go. Let us let go of pride and humble ourselves before the King. The Lord always gives His grace to the humble. He is able to manifest His power mightily in us if we let go off pride and allow meekness to rule our hearts. May The Lord grant us the grace to walk in the humility which He requires of us. Until we realise this truth, we will always be in bondage.

I HAVE BEEN JEALOUS FOR THE LORD GOD

The life of Elijah was one of zeal and demonstration of God's power. He was living in an era where the people of God( Israel) had forsaken His ways. He was living among people who had stopped following the Lord and had turned to Baal. Although God had chosen Israel as His own special people, yet they rebelled against Him and followed Baal. During Ahab's reign He did what was evil in the Lord's sight. He followed his wife Jezebel to serve Baal. Elijah aroused with jealousy for the Lord chose to contend with Ahab and the worshipers of Baal.

In 1kings 18: 20-40 Elijah executed 400 prophets of Baal. He could not stand the people's harlotry. He demonstrated God's power by commanding fire from heaven. He had to wipe evil among God's people. After executing the prophets of Baal, Jezebel sought to kill him. He had to run for his life.
1 Kings 19: 1- 3.
1AHAB TOLD Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had slain all the prophets [of Baal] with the sword.
    2Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.
    3Then he was afraid and arose and went for his life and came to Beersheba of Judah [over eighty miles, and out of Jezebel's realm] and left his servant there.
He looked weary and depressed. The Lord appeared to Him in the cave to strengthen Him. He pleaded His case before The Lord. He was the only one who stood tall in fighting against Baal. Elijah had been driven by passion.
1 Kings 19: 10- 14.
10He replied, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I, I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
    11And He said, Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
    12And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still, small voice.
    13When Elijah heard the voice, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, What are you doing here, Elijah?
    14He said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts, because the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your prophets with the sword. And I, I only, am left, and they seek my life, to destroy it.


How can we relate this to our generation? We are also God's chosen people by reason of the fact that we have believed in Christ.
1 Peter 2: 9- 10,
9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own [a]purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
    10Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God's people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy.


  We have been called to lift high the banner of Christ. Today many of God's people still follow Baal. Baal in our age is not a physical idol erected which people bow to. Baal in our dispensation is anything worldly. Remember Baal was the god of the gentiles. In our era we are spiritual jews and the gentiles are those who belong to the world. Baal in our age could be anything of the world that the children of God crave for. It could be fashion,entertainment,,music. Many of God's people still have Baal in their closets. They have  held unto to it and are not ready to release it.

The worship of Baal has also been introduced in our churches. Many churches have introduced practices which belong to the world. The power of the cross is not preached in many of our churches. Many preachers have resorted to sermons of convenience. They preach sermons that will entice people to their auditoriums. Many churches have lost their true identity. The Lord's glory has left many churches. His power is not fully manifesting because His people are harboring Baal. His people are entertaining world in their midst.

Numbers 25 : 1- 12
1ISRAEL SETTLED down and remained in Shittim, and the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab,
    2Who invited the [Israelites] to the sacrifices of their gods, and [they] ate and bowed down to Moab's gods.
    3So Israel joined himself to [the god] Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
    4And the Lord said to Moses, Take all the leaders or chiefs of the people, and hang them before the Lord in the sun [after killing them], that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.
    5And Moses said to the judges of Israel, Each one of you slay his men who joined themselves to Baal of Peor.
    6And behold, one of the Israelites came and brought to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and of all the congregation of Israel while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of Meeting [over the divine judgment and the punishment].
    7And when Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand
    8And went after the man of Israel into the inner room and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her body. Then the [smiting] plague was stayed from the Israelites.
    9Nevertheless those who died in the [smiting] plague were 24,000.
    10And the Lord said to Moses,
    11Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the Israelites, in that he was jealous with My jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the Israelites in My jealousy.
    12Therefore say, Behold, I give to Phinehas the priest My covenant of peace.


When the people of God were in the wilderness, they provoked the Lord to jealousy by going after Baal. The Lord told Moses to hang those who transgressed against Him. Even in the event of the death sentence some didn't not repent. Zimri chose to sin against The Lord by fornicating in the presence of Moses and the congregation. Phinehas who was aroused with zeal thrust Zimri with a javelin. Phinehas' act pleased The Lord. It also caused The Lord to relent the punishment on His people. We are living under grace now and as a matter of fact The Lord will not permit instant justice as in the case of Phinehas. But the question is does grace give us the license to rebel against Him? Does grace permit us to follow the world? Who will stand up and preach uncompromised truth? Who will be moved by zeal to pull down the altars of Baal among His people? Who is willing to stand in the gap and pray against the spirit of Baal among His people? Are His people willing to expose the prophets of Baal in their midst? The Lord is looking for people who will stand up and deliver His oppressed children from the grip of Baal. He is looking for people who have kept themselves pure like the remnant church in Sardis.
Revelations 3: 4.
4Yet you still have a few [persons'] names in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes, and they shall walk with Me in white, because they are worthy and deserving.

Until we stand up and pull down Baal in our midst we cannot see the fullness of His power. It is sad to see unbelievers attributing His power to the devil's works. Why? Because His people still play with Baal. So when a miracle is performed even His own people doubt it. Why are we stealing His glory. Children of God arise, be quickened by The Lord to go on rampage. May you be filled with His zeal to pull down Baal.

NARROW ROAD INDEED!

The disciples of Jesus asked Him will there be any who will be saved? Jesus replied what is impossible with men is possible with God. The disciples of Jesus had been stunned by Jesus' teaching on the narrow road. Only few find it though many try to look for it yet they miss it. They look for it their own way. Many Christians have been made to believe that it is only unbelievers who have lost their way. Well is true but its just a side of the coin.
How about Christians? Many are not finding the way either because they have double standards. They think as their minds lead them. It is not about reciting the sinner's prayer. What about the new life? Are many living the new life? Are many confessing and repenting daily.


What did Jesus say? He said strive to enter the narrow gate. Its like a race. If you dont run with urgency you cant achieve anything. In my sober moments I tell God how difficult it is to make it to heaven but I'm not discouraged once I'm still alive.
The kingdom of heaven is a holy place and only the holy will enter there. We may have an external form of piety. We may not commit the so called lewd acts but what about our hearts. Sins like envy and lust cannot be seen by others. Sins of presumption are neither known to others. All these stain our garment. Sometimes our sins are so many that we don't know what to do. When we confess one sin, another pops up in the mind. Our sins can be numerous. Sometimes our sins makes us feel like throwing in the towel. Sometimes we ask questions like is there any who can be blameless before Him?


Yes, He has made a way out for us. God has made provision for our sins. If we acknowledge our sins, confess and forsake our sins He forgives us of all our sins and His blood washes us. Our circumstance can be likened to the parable of the servant who owed the king 10000 denari ($10million). He had no option than to cry to the king for mercy. Sometimes that's how much our sins are worth. Its so heavy that we cant help ourselves. The only option available to us is to humble ourselves and ask for His mercy. Lets assume this guy was charged for adultery, murder,gossip,cheating,lying,arrogance,slander,idolatry. It was just too much for him to bear. He was guilty before the king. Jail was his next destination. He sought mercy and the king forgave him all his debts. We all know what he did afterwards. That's a story for another day.
Sometimes when we appear before God we realise there is so much to confess and we don't even know where to start. We should humble ourselves and confess bit by bit. He really forgives. It is His nature to pardon iniquity.


Every day the road gets narrower. Many have so much baggage(sin) thus they cant continue their journey. Be humble, lay the luggage at His feet and walk the narrow path. If you want to know how well you are travelling on the narrow road check how you recover when you fall into sin. If you keep falling back into the sin same then probably your walk was not steady. You didnt have enough fuel to travel.


In late 2011 I had a dream about the two gates of eternity. First I stood before a narrow gate. Only few could enter. It was difficult to enter. If one tried out of his volition it was shut on him.
Secondly I saw the broad gate. It was so easy to enter. I went into it. As I entered I descended. I saw a woman who was in so much discomfort. She needed help. Later I was given understanding that for one to enter that narrow gate he needed to be purged.
This is the truth friends. If we want to enter heaven we need to be washed clean. We need to be transparent. Many Christians miss heaven due to petty sins.


I had another vision of the narrow gate. It was a bit similar to the parable in Matt 22:1-13. I saw people entering a place like the ticketing boot of a stadium. People were entering freely. Then I saw one guy in white shirt also enter. As he entered he was thrown out. Although his shirt was white he wasnt well dressed. He didnt meet the requirements.
As Christians we are not to think as we like. The road to life is indeed narrow. We should be conscious of eternity. We shouldn't overlook the so called little sins in our lives. About two months ago God brought certain sins to my attention which many of us ignore. The Lord once made me warn someone that if she continued in gossip she will miss His kingdom. Here are some of the sins He drew my attention to

1. Careless speeches(evil speaking of others,gossip,sharing,listening and laughing at foolish jokes)

2. Examination malpractice(cheating)

3.Lateness to work. Working lesser hours but receiving more wages (unfaithness and cheating)

4. Lateness to church

5. Prayerlessness

6. Unfulfilled promises to God and neighbors ( making promises but never fulfilling them)

7. Laziness and procrastination

8. Unfaithfulness in witnessing to the lost

9. Neglecting the poor on the street


10. Impatience and intolerance. ( trying to impose your will on others)

BE FAITHFUL TO THE END

Revelations 2:8-11(AMP)
And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, Who died and came to life again: 9 I know your affliction and distress and pressing trouble and your poverty—but you are rich! and how you are abused and reviled and slandered by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Fear nothing that you are about to suffer. [Dismiss your dread and your fears!] Behold, the devil is indeed about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested and proved and critically appraised, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be loyally faithful unto death [even if you must die for it], and I will give you the crown of life. 11 He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). He who overcomes (is victorious) shall in no way be injured by the second death.

The Lord once impressed this on me. If you were to meet your lover at a particular time of the day for dinner, you will do everything possible not to be late. The Lord was teaching me about faithfulness to Him. God requires us to be faithful in prayer, bible study,worship,tithing,giving. All those who walked with God in the bible were faithful. The bible says Moses was faithful in his household. Abraham was faithful to The Lord. Jephthah, David...... If we have purposed to meet with God in prayer at 5am every day we should be faithful with that. We cant wake up at 5 today and 7 the next morning. God deserves the best. If we have purposed to study our bible for an hour a day we should be faithful. We should either stick to the hour or yearn to increase the hours. If we receive our income we shouldn't go on a shopping spree before we tithe. Tithing is also called first fruit. The Lord taught The people of Israel to bring the first fruit of their increase. The Lord once told me that many do not receive blessings from tithes because they do not tithe properly. We should remember God is faithful and He requires we remain faithful to Him.

If a wife/husband remains faithful for 364 days and commits fornication just a day will he/she be considered as faithful? Certainly not. Often we are quick to point out the lukewarmness in the lives of others but we forget we are also lukewarm. Do you think that the unfaithful or lukewarm Christian is the one who goes around fornicating? Friends we better examine our lives. I see many on facebook telling others to repent. Repentance is not a bad call but the truth is there are many here who are not faithful in their walk with God. Are you faithful in prayer? Are you faithful in evangelism? I'm not talking about evangelising ones in a blue moon. Are you faithful in tithing and giving offerings? Are you faithful serving in the house of God?

Even in your workplace are you faithful? Many people complain about the economic hardship around the globe. People have flimsy excuses for not going to work. These same people are the first to bash authorities for their economic misfortunes but I'm yet to see someone say I absented myself from work for no tangible reason so deduct that day's wages from my gross. Friends, going around spreading news that one should repent is not bad but we should remember that repentance is broad and it covers every act of unrighteousness. Do you think the only one who needs to repent is that drunkard behind your house or that guy who goes around chasing ladies?

If we are faithful in the little things then God can entrust us with more. When The Lord addressed the 7churches in Asia minor, one of the issues that he highlighted was unfaithfulness. The church in Ephesus' love had grown cold. They had become lukewarm. They had ceased from their first works. The Ephesus church had become unfaithful in their walk with The Lord.
Revelations 2:2-7
To the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Ephesus write: These are the words of Him Who holds the seven stars [which are the messengers of the seven churches] in His right hand, Who goes about among the seven golden lampstands [which are the seven churches]:
2 I know your industry and activities, laborious toil and trouble, and your patient endurance, and how you cannot tolerate wicked [men] and have tested and critically appraised those who call [themselves] apostles (special messengers of Christ) and yet are not, and have found them to be impostors and liars.
3 I know you are enduring patiently and are bearing up for My name’s sake, and you have not fainted or become exhausted or grown weary.
4 But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love].
5 Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.
6 Yet you have this [in your favor and to your credit]: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans [what they are doing as corrupters of the people], which I Myself also detest.
7 He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

The seven churches in Asia minor represents the spiritual state of the churches worldwide. The only church that was qualified to inherit glory was the church in Philadelphia. Sometimes we are quick to bash churches that are reminiscent of the Laodicean church but we forget one way or the other we have an element of lukewarmness in our lives. Strangely many of God's people do not realise they are unfaithful as a result it renders them in the lukewarm category. It is evident that The Lord's coming is imminent. The Lord has spoken to a lot of people including myself about the imminence of His coming. Friend, when He comes will He find a faithful bride? When He comes will you be among the majority who shout "rapture"? Friends don't be deceived. The Lord is coming very soon but you also ought to do your homework well. In late 2010 and early 2011 I was so enthused about The Lord's coming. When The Lord started testing me I failed many of my tests.I realised there was much work to be done in me.


Many want to be raptured but they are not faithful in their walk with God. Only a faithful bride will make it in the rapture. Friend, use this period of grace to work on your unfaithfulness. Faithfulness is the 7th fruit of the Spirit. I don't know why Paul listed faithfulness as the 7th fruit but it has a meaning. Biblically 7 represents perfection. Friend, use this hour of grace to be perfected in faithfulness. Many claim they are rapture ready but they will be surprised that they will be left here when the trumpet sounds. How many are praying to God to heal their unfaithfulness? How many are praying to God to heal their backsliding? Don't follow the majority. Their messages may feel good but at the end of the day you should remember we will account on individual basis. We can only be assured of the rapture if we are abounding in the 9 fruits of the Spirit. Friend, you got to persevere to the end. You have to remain faithful to the point of death and this is only possible through spending time and surrendering to Him on a daily basis. Let Him break you so He can mould you.

A DREAM VISIT TO HEAVEN

About two weeks ago I had a dream visit to heaven. Actually this is not my first visit. I knew it was heaven because its quiet easy to understand things in the spiritual world than the physical. I was shown the mansion of a very beloved brother in The Lord who is devoted. His mansion was very big but it wasn't tall. It was decorated with gold. I don't know why his mansion wasn't tall. It looked like the White House thats how best I can describe it. My friend looked at the mansion with great disappointment written all over his face. I also felt disappointed because I knew he was devoted to the things of God so I asked myself if he has not been able to put up a tall mansion then how about me?

YOU DO NOT BELONG THERE. COME BACK HOME!

Luke 15:11-24.
11 And He said, There was a certain man who had two sons;
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the part of the property that falls [to me]. And he divided the estate between them.
13 And not many days after that, the younger son gathered up all that he had and journeyed into a distant country, and there he wasted his fortune in reckless and loose [from restraint] living.
14 And when he had spent all he had, a [a]mighty famine came upon that country, and he began to fall behind and be in want.
15 So he went and forced (glued) himself upon one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed hogs.
16 And he would gladly have fed on and [b]filled his belly with the [c]carob pods that the hogs were eating, but [they could not satisfy his hunger and] nobody gave him anything [better].
17 Then when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have enough food, and [even food] to spare, but I am perishing (dying) here of hunger!
18 I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.
19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; [just] make me like one of your hired servants.
20 So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [[d]fervently].
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son [I no longer deserve to be recognized as a son of yours]!
22 But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet.
23 And bring out [e]that [wheat-]fattened calf and kill it; and let us [f]revel and feast and be happy and make merry,
24 Because this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found! And they began to [g]revel and feast and make merry.


 The parable of the prodigal son shows how shambolic we become when we leave God's presence and God's love and clemency towards us. This account talks about the life of a very rich father who is having a harmonious life with his two sons and his servants. The father enjoys the communion with his sons. One of the sons is captivated by the father's riches and he chooses the riches over the sweet relationship he is enjoying with the father. He leaves to a far land, squanders what he has. He later realises his folly. He decides to smoke the peace pipe with his father by returning to him in humility.  This parable is a clear illustration of our relationship with God. It depicts two kinds of believers. The first is the unfaithful believer who gets carried away by his gifting and easily gets corrupted by the world. The second son is an epitome of a believer who loves the Lord genuinely and is well rooted in Him. He is faithful in all situations.

Many of us had a harmonious relationship with The Lord when we accepted Him into our lives. We were willing to forgo our favorite tv shows for prayer. We were willing to switch off the tele and forfeit our favorite sporting events just to be in His presence. His joy was our joy. His pain was our pain. Then we began to grow in Him. The Lord began to bless us, shape us and give us spiritual gifts which we never expected or dreamed of. Some got so mesmerised with their gifting that they began to idolise it asking for more, and seeking less of the giver. Gradually they began to take their focus of God and started to be attention seekers. Their actions showed that they didn’t need God. They gradually drifted from The Lord and finally decided to flirt with the world.

They will chase after the things of the world which they abhorred initially. They will join the world to mock the cross. They will use their gifts and resources to draw attention to themselves instead of God. Prayer dies. Bible study is nonexistent. They despise other believers and feel comfortable with the world hoping that their gifts will keep them to stand the hostility of the world. They forget that the source of their blessing has been cut off and they live in delusion. Any time we seek blessings and gifts at the expense of an intimacy with God that's the price we pay.

The rebellious believer begins to feel and see the wickedness of the world. There is no more oil to fuel his gifts. His blessings are cut off. His gifts gradually get corrupted. He begins to feel the isolation the world has for him. All his lovers in the world live him in his depressing state. He begins to move around if he can find spiritual nourishment. At this stage some will go to some churches or cults to find refuge only to find their souls still hungry. If it is a church, some may enter churches that preach watered down sermons. The rebellious believer now comes to his senses. He recalls the intimate relationship he had with God. He remembers the peace he enjoyed. Now he is contemplating. He looks spiritually unkempt. He is fully of bruises. His spiritual garment is torn and stained. He is filled with the odour of the world. He looks wretched but he is still hopeful.
 Isaiah 1:4-6
4 Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised and shown contempt and provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they have become utterly estranged (alienated).
5 Why should you be stricken and punished any more [since it brings no correction]? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint (feeble, sick, and nauseated).
6 From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness or health in [the nation’s body]—but wounds and bruises and fresh and bleeding stripes; they have not been pressed out and closed up or bound up or softened with oil. [No one has troubled to seek a remedy.
]The rebellious believer makes a decision to go back to God. He humbles himself. He is willing to take up any position in the kingdom of God. He takes a bold state and goes back to God. God in His great love and mercy accepts him, forgives and restores him.

What lesson are we learning from this parable? Any time we seek God's blessings instead of a walk with God, we are likely to lose focus on Him. The devil will begin to sow pride and greed in our hearts just to get our attention. When this happens we are likely to seek our own way. We are likely to turn a deaf ear to fellow believers. We reach the stage where we want praises from people. We become people centred and not God centred. We need God's grace to walk daily. His word and prayer is our fuel. If we neglect these and look at our gifts it may appear that we have a source of power initially but we will soon fade out and fall for the world. We would eventually corrupt ourselves, promoting the kingdom of the devil and fighting God's kingdom. Eventually we will be stealing his tithes by lavishing it on the nonsense of the world. We will begin to patronise licentious materials. Our hearts will grow cold and we will start slandering, criticising and backbiting God's people. Our hearts will be full of envy and hatred instead of love. We will bear bad fruits because we will not be feeding from Him. We will not be partaking of the bread of life. Even in our rebellious and backsliding state God still calls. Sometimes He uses the harsh conditions in the world to draw us closer to us. He may allow the world to exploit us so that we will feel hurt and disappointed.

When He disciplines us we should be quick to discern that He is calling us to come back home. We have to step out bodly and return to Him. If we continue to stay in our rebellious state our conscience will eventually be seared. It doesn't matter how deep you have fallen.  Just humble yourself and get back to God. Take that bold step of faith and return to The Lord. Don't continue to stay in the dung of this world. Don't let your guilt rule your life. His grace is there for you to get things right with Him. His blood is able to cleanse your conscience from dead works. You will ask I have tried so many times and I have failed. Don't give up. Keep on trying. During my rebellious and backsliding days I used to groan in my heart. I was caught in masturbation for 6 years. I was full of self righteousness. When I made a decision to surrender and rededicated my life to the Lord He didn't change me in a day. He continued to nurture me and showed me true love which He still does. Never give up. Persevere and keep on praying. The Lord is willing to accept you back only if you are willing. Just make that decision.
