In the Old Testament God promised to bless His people if they
continued to walk in His commandments. He also warned them of the sword
and pestilence if they turned away from Him to play the harlot. Sadly
many of His people did not realise they were far from Him. In their
rebellion they justified their sins instead of repenting and crying out
for healing. In the New Testament the promises are in Christ. If
one abides in Him, he is legitimate to enjoy His blessings. He will not
only enjoy spiritual blessings but the material as well. If one is
bearing fruit the heavens are opened for him.
 Sadly many of the
new testament saints want to grow outside the vine. Many want His
blessings but they are not willing to grow in Him. Many chase prophetic
declarations all over the place forgetting The One who gives the
blessings. God out of His generosity may bless His people along the way
but that is not to say one is pleasing Him. He sent the Jews manna even
in their rebellion. He causes the sun to shine on both the wicked and
the righteous. At the end of the day God is looking for people with
deeper roots. He is looking for people who are hungry. Like the old
testament saints many are in rebellion against Him but they do not
realise.
Jeremiah 2:23(AMP)
How can you say, I am
not defiled; I have not gone after the Baals [other gods]? Look at your
way in the valley; know what you have done. You are a restive young
female camel [in the uncontrollable violence of her brute passion
eagerly] running hither and thither,

Jeremiah 23:35-37

35 Yet you keep saying, I am innocent; surely His anger has turned away
from Me. Behold, I will bring you to judgment and will plead against
you because you say, I have not sinned.

 36 Why do
you gad or wander about so much to change your way? You shall be put to
shame by Egypt as you were put to shame by Assyria.

37 From [Egypt] also you will come away with your hands upon your head,
for the Lord has rejected those in whom you confide, and you will not
prosper with [respect to] them.

 Many are
deluded but they do not know. The old testament saints blatantly denied
their sins. Today many may say they are not in denial but the question
is what fruit are His people bearing? Is sin a trivial matter to you? Is
a little sin ok for you? Do you feel comfortable chasing the world
instead of Him? Let us search our hearts. Let us get closer to Him. If
we draw near to Him our sins will be exposed. We will no longer be
walking in darkness. We will realise we are nothing without Him. Isaiah
saw His majesty and He felt like a dead man. He knew prophesying wasn't
enough. Doing ministry is not all He requires from us. We must draw
closer to Him and hear from Him.
Glory To Jesus
