FRUIT OF REPENTANCE

Many Christians are quick to point at King David's adultery with Bathsheba during their rebellion but they forget to add he genuinely repented. Scripture says he went to the house of The Lord after his treacherous act. He poured out his heart before The Lord. He offered prayers out of a contrite spirit which was recorded in Psalm 51. This was a man God had a good testimony about. God called Him a man after His own heart. He had received many promises and blessings from God. He had destroyed the enemies of God. David was highly anointed but he still sought for a place for repentance. He knew if he was going to keep walking with God, he had to repent. He was not forgiven because of his anoining. He was not forgiven because God called Him a man after His own heart. He acknowledged his sin. He sought for forgiveness. He learnt to erect the right altar(sincere heart) with the right sacrifices(brokeness and contriteness). He didn't give wealth to atone for his sins. That would have been pride. Today many Christians even leaders who fall back into sin or walking in sin may offer Him the wrong sacricfices. They may offer the church a bus to transport His people. They may give the largest donation to raise funds. What does God expect from His people when they are walking contrary to Him? He desires they erect an altar of sincerity and offer Him sacrifices of brokeness and contriteness. He doesnt need your money to atone for your sins.

You may be still prophecying, teaching but that does not qualify you or justify you. Saul was still administering as a king though he was rejected by God. Many might have had many prophecies spoken over their lives. Many might have enjoyed certain graces but that does not justify them when they are walking in sin. Grace was given to make amends. Grace was given to make hay while the sun shines. It wasn't given to continue in sin and boast about the grace upon ones life. So many are walking in ignorance. So many are made to believe there is no repentance for a Christian. Many are made to believe you can just offer sinner's prayer and just walk straight into heaven. You may itemise sins. You may make mention of the so called big sins as the only reason one goes to hell. How about your pride, unbelief, bitter and critical heart? Humble yourself and get back to Him. You know in your heart you have fallen from grace. Don't try to appear good before people like Saul wanted to appear before the elders when he rejected the word of God. The bible says God delights in sacrifices of brokeness and contriteness. There is a place in the kingdom for the repentant soul. At the end of the age He will call the proud cursed. He will call them lawless ones. Cry out to Him while He is near. Learn to accept responsibility for your prayerlessness. Stop attributing it to your work load. Stop making excuses for your unforgiving nature. Only the needy can appear before the mercy seat. Saul always found a way of shirking his guilt. God did not see any genuine repentance in his heart. He had remorse but lacked repentance. He just wanted sympathy. Adam and Eve were rejected for their blame game. They were rejected for their self righteousness. Stop making others look bad so that you can look good in your sins.

1 Samuel 15:30 Then he said, I have sinned; yet honour me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me that I may worship the LORD your God.

Psalm 51:3-6 For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only have I sinned and done this evil in your sight that You may be found just when You speak and blameless when You judge. Behold I was brought forth in iniquity and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Joel 2:13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to The Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness; and He relents from dong harm.

Zechariah 7:5 Say to all the people of the land and to all the priests: When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months during those seventy years, did you really fast for Me?

Genesis 3:12-13 Then the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate. And the LORD God said to the woman, what is this you have done? The woman said the serpent deceived me and I ate.

Glory To Jesus
