David had began to rule after the death of Saul but he didn't have total authority over the whole land. David reigned in Hebron of Judah while Ishbosheth Saul's son was king over Israel. It took Abner to hand over the whole keys of the kingdom to David. Abner became a campaign manager for David. Though Abner was of the house of Saul thus he was supposed to be an enemy to David because the kingdom was slipping from their hands but God caused Abner to pledge allegiance to David. Abner knew the going out and coming in of the house of Benjamin. He knew if David was to succeed he had to win the hearts of the Benjamites and the other tribes outside Judah whose hearts were not with David initially.
There are times God may promise to establish us but we need an Abner.
An Abner hastens our promotion.
An Abner puts together the pieces we have seen from afar so that we can see the whole picture. David had began to rule in Hebron but he didn't know what it felt like to be king over the whole of Israel.
An Abner will remain loyal to you. He will not leave you until you accomplish God's purpose.
An Abner knows you are not legitimate but he trusts in God's grace and promise over your life more than human laid down rules and order.
I pray The Lord will send you your Abner as God sets you on the path to fulfill your destiny.
Glory To Jesus
